Sentiment & Symbolism
The Vine Dreamcatcher shown at right is my personal dreamcatcher and is one of the first I ever made. It has a muscadine vine hoop bent into a teardrop shape along with a snow-white quartz arrowhead I found unbroken and in pristine condition -- pretty rare for something that might be thousands of years old!
I wander whenever I need to mull things over and this artifact, like many I've found, only revealed itself after I'd sorted through whatever it was I had on my mind that day. As if to say, "Okay, here's your sign. Now go make it happen." It is symbolic of the Grace that has touched my life as a result of those decisions.
To remind me of how I got to the here and now, I added 3 gold wedding bands from my three former marriages, two over by choice, one cut short by cancer.
Each of the *feathers holds a special significance as well. At the right and left sides, representing my Parrot Head loyalties, are real *Pink Flamingo feathers which were given to me by my daughter's best friend and the two center feathers, from a *Red-tailed Hawk & a Great Blue Heron, were found saved especially for me by yet another very special lady in my life.
* Due to strict state & federal regulations prohibiting the sale of wild bird feathers, I do not use feathers like those above on the dreamcatchers I sell.
