Dreamcatchers
The Dreamcatchers you will find here feature designs, color schemes, themes and an evolving array of decorative components that aren't traditionally used in Native American-inspired arts and crafts. That is my intention.
The idea is to create a unique, interpretive work of art that honors the spirit of the traditional Native American Dreamcatchers while utilizing contemporary components and elements to match a wider variety of decor styles. You can see a few examples of my past work below.
I can't count the number of times I've added a certain dream catcher I was sure was destined to sell right away only to have it stay in inventory for months, drawing nary an inquiry. Then out of the blue someone buys it. At the same time, I will begin to receive a flurry of interest in the same or other similarly-styled dreamcatchers. Almost every time this has happened, the customer buying the dreamcatcher contacted me simply to share a tale of long hunts for a "perfect gift" or an ongoing search for decorative accents having a certain style or color that the dreamcatcher happened to be a perfect match for.
Similar things have happened throughout my life. Ever timely, these repeat occurrences seem to have a purpose in keeping me humble by reminding me of two important things about life. One is that we can't predict what the Universe is up to -even tho' my Taurean nature insists that I try :-) and.... that there is no such thing as a coincidence. Case in point, the story of how Cyna became our company name, found on the Dreamcatchers for Breast Cancer Awareness page. Definitely not a "coincidence."!
