Contemporary Dreamcatchers
The Dreamcatchers you will find here feature designs, color schemes, themes and an ever-evolving array of decorative components not typically used in Native American-inspired arts and crafts. That is my intention.
The idea is to create an interpretive, unique work of art that reflects the essence and intended purpose of the traditional Native Dreamcatcher while integrating contemporary components and colors with which to complement virtually any motif. A few examples of my past work are shown in the slide show below.
No Such Thing As a Coincidence
I can't tell you the number of times I've added a dream catcher to the site in answer to a high demand for a particular style or color, confident it would sell right away, only to have it displayed for months, drawing not so much as an inquiry. Then one day, it sells and a flurry of requests come in for the very same piece. Each time this happened, the respective customers who wound up with those dreamcatchers made it a point to tell me how much time had been spent hunting for a certain gift or decorative accent that particular dreamcatcher had happened to fit. Don't ya just have to wonder sometimes...?
Having experienced a great number of things that might be considered "coincidental," I have personally come to believe that there is no such thing as coincidence; everything happens for a reason. Case in point is the story of how Cyna became our company name, found on the Dreamcatchers for Breast Cancer Awareness page. Coincidence? I think not! But read for yourself and decide.
I try to remain alert for these kinds of things because they tend to keep me humble by reminding me that one, we never really know what the Universe is up to -- tho' my Taurean nature compels me to try :-) -- and two, whatever that might be is far greater and infinitely more interesting than anything my little pea brain could possibly conceive! Namaste'!!
